If you’re on top of your game, you might have noticed something different about my website.
That’s right: The glamor shots in the top right corner are GONZO!
And in case you didn’t know, “gonzo” is Mom-speak for the more commonly used “gone.”
(And also the nickname of one of my BFFs, whose last name is Gonzalez.)
(Or it was, before she got married.)
No more glamor shots. If you’d like to see them plus a few more, they’re all posted on my Facebook page.
There will be a few changes ’round the old website, which begins our List of Exciting Announcements That Are Possibly Only Exciting To Me:
1) My web design guru friend, who crafted the beauty that is Anne Riley Books dot com, is working on a few changes for me. First is the different header, with my name centered and the removal of the glamor shots.
But he’s also adding an EVENTS page and – wait for it – a MEDIA page!
The EVENTS page will have details about my . . . um . . . events, like speaking things and signing things and whatnot.
The MEDIA page will be loaded with photos of events, photos of me, links to all my interviews and guest posts, and my videos (like this one).
I am SO PUMPED because this will help me de-clutter my blog sidebar and make it easier for people to find what they want around the site.
HOORAY, WEB DESIGN GURU FRIEND!
2) Every time someone asks me, “Are you working on a sequel to The Clearing?” I say, “Not yet, but soon!” And if you know anything about me, you know I am a master of the art of procrastination.
I’m like, a BLACK BELT in procrastination.
So yesterday I thought, “Boy, I really need something to give me a kick in the pants on that sequel. I am going to write it, but if I don’t commit to that in writing, it might be 2035 before it happens and chances are no one will care at that point.”
I am setting a release date for THE CLEARING 2: CLEAR AS MUD. (Again, if Rachel Hawkins can have fun with her fake titles, so can I.)
And here it is.
THE CLEARING 2: CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF will be released February 1, 2012!
Yes, I know that is a long time away, but it’s almost exactly one year from the release of the first book, and if you know anything about trilogies, you know they are often released one year apart.
I’m just trying to stay true to the industry, peeps.
And also giving myself enough time to write and edit the thing. Plus finish writing my current magical WIP, which is officially entitled . . .
Yes, the name of the novel I’m writing now is PULL. It is such a relief to have a title, even if it’s just a working one.
I’m 40,000 words into it and loving it, so that’s fun. And I hope to send it on submission by the fall. Woop!
And now for your reminder:
If you haven’t seen it yet, I’m giving away the lovely Denise Swank’s debut novel, TWENTY-EIGHT AND A HALF WISHES, plus an ARC of ULTRAVIOLET by R.J. Anderson!
