It is April 27, 2012.
On April 27, 2011, this happened. I watched this exact broadcast from my living room, hoping I’d survive the night. (Things get really crazy around the five minute mark.)
On this map, the star represents our house. The lines represent tornado paths.
James Spann, meteorologist: “This will be a day that will go down in state history…”

Holy crap, Anne. I’m SO glad you and your family were safe. This is terrifying, even a year later.
I’m glad too! For a while there, the big one from Tuscaloosa was heading right toward us. Then it veered north. O.O
That’s craziness. So glad someone is watching over you!
Me too
The tornadoes came through our city too. Our neighborhood was hit pretty hard, but thankfully no one was injured.
I know, I think they went as far north as Kentucky. *shudders* I HATE weather like that!
OMG, how terrifying! It’s hard to even imagine something of this magnitude.
It really is. I’ve re-watched that weather broadcast several times. I still can’t believe it.
