Okay peeps, here’s the dealio. For every person who enters these week-long giveaways, there is at least one more person who didn’t get the word until it was too late. And that? Is not cool.
So here’s what we’re gonna do.
I’m going to slow this horse down just a little bit and give people more of a chance to enter. I know what you’re thinking. “But that decreases my odds of winning!”
Why yes, yes it does. But I’m making up for it by giving you another way to earn more entries, so you can’t be mad at me. Nope. Not allowed.
Before we talk about the new and improved rules, let’s take a look at the LOOT!
Luke left his old life – his dead mother, his alcoholic father – behind in New York City when he came to Moab, Utah, eight months ago. Seventeen years old and technically a runaway, he found work and a new home at a youth hostel nestled in the red sandstone valley.
Now he has reinvented himself as a guy who lives for the present, and it seems to be working – particularly when it comes to his relationship with his beautiful co-worker, Tangerine.
Back in New York, nineteen-year-old Ava is struggling through her own transformation – from drunk to recovering alcoholic. How could she have gotten so out of control? Almost sixty days sober, she’s not sure she can keep it up. But someone she meets at an AA meeting changes her mind, and a strange coincidence – or is it more than that? – brings Ava west to Moab as well.
Living on the edge, caught between the pain of the past and the possibilities of the future, Luke and Ava both discover that in this mysterious world, hope sometimes comes from the most unlikely places.
Our second book is an ARC of DEVIANT by Adrian McKinty. It comes out in October. Here’s the blurb:
The cats of Colorado Springs are disappearing. Someone is stealing them in the night and leaving them to be found by their owners in the morning, the hearts cut out. And that’s just a warning of the terror to come.
Danny Lopez is new in town. He made a mistake back home in Las Vegas, and now he’s landed at an experimental school in Colorado for “tough cases.” At the Cobalt Junior High Charter School, students are forced to wear white gloves, and everything is scripted – from what the teachers say to how the class replies.
Danny can’t shake the feeling that something strange is lurking beneath the super-controlled facade of his new school – something dark and evil. When a classmate’s cat turns up dead, and Danny and his friends begin receiving cryptic, anonymous letters signed by “Indrid Cold,” Danny digs deeper into the mysteries that surround him and becomes a target of a killer determined to “clean up” Colorado Springs.
This giveaway starts today (Sunday, July 3) and ends at 8pm CST on Friday, July 15. It is open internationally.
Even though there are two books, we will only have ONE winner.
Here’s how you can enter to win:
1. PRE-REQUISITE: You must follow this blog to enter. Click “Join This Site” in the sidebar and follow the prompts.
2. Leave a comment on this post saying you’d like to enter. In your comment, please tell me if you did any of the following:
- Tweeted a link to the giveaway (please mention me @AnneRiley) +1 extra entry
- Facebooked a link to the giveaway (please mention me @Anne Riley if you know how) +1 extra entry
- Mentioned this giveaway and included a link to it in a blog post (I’ll find it, no link needed) +3 extra entries
- Devoted an entire blog post to this giveaway and left it up for at least 24 hours (I’ll find it, no link needed) + 5 extra entries
You can do any, all, or none of the above. Your entry is your comment, so if you’re cool with one entry, then by all means ignore all those bullet points up there.
One more thing I’m doing differently this time: I’ll announce the winner on my blog on Saturday, July 16. I will not contact the winner via email. There is no need to leave your email address in your comment. If you are the winner, you will have three days to claim your prize; otherwise I will pass it on to someone else.
Happy entering! And happy fourth!
