So, you know how I’ve been saying that I kind of hate SYNTHESIS right now? But I want to have it on submission by June 1? And I couldn’t figure out how to make it what I wanted it to be?
YOU GUYS. I FIGURED IT OUT.
The main problem I had with it was this: My agent wanted it to end in a way that wouldn’t freak publishers out, i.e. it could be a stand-alone novel OR it could go on to become a series.
Well, I tried. And tried. And TRIED to make it end like that. But no matter what, I couldn’t make it into a stand-alone novel. It had to be a series. HAD TO BE.
Or so I thought.
This afternoon I realized that there is a way to end it that would A) wrap up the story, but B) leave room for more development if the need arose. And the most infuriating part of it is that it’s SO DADGUM OBVIOUS.
HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS?
WOULD YOU LIKE FOR ME TO STOP USING CAPS LOCK NOW?
Anyway, I’m completely pumped and over the moon and OMG life is awesome. I’m starting the new ending tomorrow. Woot!
