So, the Fairy Tale Blogfest hosted by Emily White?
In fact, I think I got more feedback on this blogfest entry than on any others, ever. Which is really the main reason I do them – you wouldn’t believe the amount of constructive criticism, feedback, encouragement, etc. you get from these things.
I’ll admit I didn’t make it around to every single blog (there were a TON who participated) but the entries I read? GENIUS.
And you know what else? (This is the part where I nearly O.D. on flattery.) Emily let people vote on the entries they liked best, because she is completely awesome and is giving out PRIZES for the top three.
Guess who’s a finalist?
I know! What? Huh?
Seriously, if you voted for me, I don’t even know what to say. I’m stunned. STUNNED, I tell you. I never thought Cindy the Assassin would go so far in life. Looks like Assassin Camp really paid off, eh?
But the thing I loved the most was reading your comments. My WORD, people, you are too kind!! And you know what?
You totally inspired me.
I’m going to take your advice and make this a series of stories. Maybe the first one will continue Cindy’s story a little further, as many of you requested. After that, who knows? A skydiving Snow White? A bellydancing Sleeping Beauty?
The possibilities are endless.
So, thanks. A million times. As someone who’s spent a whole lot of time on the brink of publication but can’t seem to make it over the edge, THANK YOU. Your encouragement means more than you will ever know. For realz.
Emily wants everyone to continue voting for the top three entries until Monday, so if you could, hop over to her blog and check out the finalists’ entries. Then vote for your favorite! You do NOT have to vote for me. In fact, if mine is not your favorite, please don’t vote for me. Vote for the one you like the best!
In an unrelated note, yesterday was the last day to enter the AKA Flash Fiction Contest I hosted this month with my lovely CPs Anna Brittain and Kristy Colley. Even if you didn’t get a chance to enter, please check back to see who the lucky winners are! We’ll announce them… sometime. In the near future. Like, maybe by Labor Day.
Don’t hold me to that, though. I want to really digest these entries before I pick my winner, and I know Anna and Kristy want to do the same.
And finally, one last reminder to head over to Emily White’s blog and vote on the finalists. It doesn’t matter who you vote for; just vote!
