Just A Couple More Weeks Till I’m A Real Person Again!

I’m a blog slacker. I know. But, if any of you are interested, let me share the state of my life at the moment.

1. It’s Cinco de Mayo today. While this holiday generally takes on about the same importance as Arbor Day for most of us, please remember I am a high school Spanish teacher. Which means that by 2:40pm today, I will have eaten double my weight in Mexican food, dodged a flying plastic baseball bat in the hands of piñata-crazed teens, and will have developed quite an impressive farmer’s tan.

2. We’re about three weeks away from the end of the school year. I’ll just let you sit and ponder the implications of that.

3. There’s some very cool stuff happening for me right now, but I can’t tell you what it is yet. Could it be related to my book? Perhaps. Or is it? Yeah… I’m just going to bring it up, and then not tell you. But stay tuned: It won’t be long, provided everything goes the way it should.

So, in short, I’ll be a semi-nutcase until sometime at the end of May, when I’ll finally have some time to breathe. And blog. And read. And clean my house.

Hope you have a very feliz Cinco de Mayo, and I’ll be back soon. I promise.

Oh, I remember Cinco de Mayo in high school. Good luck with that. All I get now for it in college is Mexican food in the Caf with some streamers (if there are any decorations at all).

I’m in finals week now, so I can almost taste the freedom. Sorry you have to wait another three weeks. :/

And congrats on whatever exciting, happy news you’re sitting on. I hope the universe smiles on you and things go the way they should. 🙂

Hasta luego, Senorita. (My computer does not want to let me put a tilde over the n right now, my apologies, lol.)

Amanda: Ha, that is funny. My college used to do the same kind of thing – lame decorations for every holiday there ever was. Enjoy your near freedom and know that I am supremely jealous of you!

Sounds really exciting – and now we have to wait???? Yikes! We still have lots of weeks before the end of school – no countdowns yet 🙂
