Because you guys are so friggin’ awesome and got me up to 200 blog members in NO TIME FLAT, guess what? I’m following through on my promise to host an amazing book giveaway so you’ll have something to read as the days get longer and hotter!

I was hoping to get my hands on an ARC of a YA novel coming out later this year, but unfortunately, it turns out there are no more advance copies to be had. Sad, right? But, never fear – I have some great books for you to win!

Here’s how this is going to work: Since there are about 200 members of this blog, I will give two (2) lucky winners the book of their choice from the options below.

HOWEVER.

If I am so blessed as to have 250 blog members by the end of this contest – which will be on June 30 – I’ll pick a third winner and let them choose a book from the options below as well!

And if I somehow reach 300 blog members by June 30? You guessed it – a fouth winner will have their pick of the options below!

Incarceron by Catherine Fisher.

Hi friends! Sooo, guess what? Summer is ALMOST HERE! Are you as excited as I am? If you’re a high school teacher like me, the answer to that is a resounding HECK YES! I can’t wait for weeks and weeks of freedom to read, write, finally clean up my house… or maybe just the first two. Yeah, the first two sound like way more fun than that third one.

To celebrate the impending humidity and unavoidable Beach Fever, I really want to do a fun summer book giveaway. You know, something that would make a great read during those long, hot days, when all you want to do is lie on your couch with a tall glass of lemonade and lose yourself in a great story.

Sounds awesome, right? I KNOW!

Now, the books I’ll be giving away are completely amazing. In fact, I’m working on securing one that will REALLY get you excited – but even if that one doesn’t follow through for me, the other options will be plenty to pique your interest!

There is, however, a condition.

I want to reach – or exceed – 200 blog members before I do this giveaway. Which shouldn’t really be hard, considering you’re going to have to be an official member to enter the giveaway.

Well, I’ve got a cold. *sigh* At least this week is exam week at school and I won’t have to, you know, teach.

So as I’m lying here on the sofa that has become my temporary home, I thought I’d tell you all about some really great comments I’ve gotten on my book. I’m not going to go into any specifics, but let’s just say some people who are in charge of some stuff have read it, and they liked it… a lot.

And even if nothing comes of it – even if, after their compliments and praise, nobody ends up actually publishing the book – well, that’s okay, because I’m still enjoying the afterglow from their kind words.

(Seriously. There’s this weird halo thing around my head. I’ve tried to tell my husband it’s because I’m perfect, but he’s not buying it.)

I mean, obviously, yes, I would LOOOOOVE to be published. As my husband would say, “That is Situation 1A.” But for real, it’s just so nice to hear people say how much they like this thing I’ve slaved over for a year and a half now. So. NICE.

In other news, I’ve outlined several chapters of my new project, and I am so super pumped about where it’s going! I can’t remember hearing about anything like this as far as the plot goes, and if you remember, I was struggling with the originality of my ideas for a few days there. But I’m really excited about what I’ve got so far. Hopefully I can finish outlining soon and actually start writing it!
